  • Downloaded DVDs!? Not here I think ...

Strange things happen from time to time - Iґd to ban johngalt, ґcause what he wrote in
this thread is not acceptable IMHO on this board  :
"great info, thanks - I currently do not have a DVD player, but am soon getting a very large drive so I can download DVDs and watch them, and optionally store them for later burning when I do get the burner.
This info will allow me to at least know what I am doing when I try to play them on my system for the first time.
Advice: I use Nero (Legit paid for copy) and also have the Nero Showtime. I used it to watch VCDs/Svcd that I obtain form the newsgroups, but lately it has been playing very very choppy. the only thing I can figure is that the new new nVidia drivers are not as comfy as the older ones I had installed - for the first month I used it the sound remained synchronized with the movie the entire way (that is how I was able to see Matrix Reloaded and others) but now I hm getting really good quality rips (League of Ex Gentlemen was the last I downloaded) but it gets really choppy almost 5 min into the movie - even with *every* extra service / antivirus scanner turned off.
Any ideas why this may have started all of a sudden, or any clues which way I should go with troubleshooting this?
For the record, I have not change much on the system, and the download drive has over 8 GB free - and I tried defragmenting it (Norton Sped Disk) and then copying the files back to the drive - and am using DT to load the images to virtual drives as I did before."

Unfortunately I can move the whole thread only, so I copyґnґpasted it here, while deleting his post in the thread. I also deleted some posts in a thread in the General Copy Discussion forum - @Andareed: warning is not enough in cases like these!

I did not immediatly ban him, since he has posted quite a bit before. If a user registers then posts warez, I will ban him. But if you think he should be banned, go ahead and ban him

Btw, I'm starting to get pissed off by the stupid anti-warez message box I added.

I know - that's why I was a little bit unsure to ban him first, but then I saw the other thread with your warning and banned him, ґcause there's no excuse anymore for posting this downloaded DVDs stuff, regardless if his posts in the past were quite useful.

      LOL - me, too
btw did johngalt see this message box while he was posting the mentioned things already?

@copytrooper: your decision was right. We don't tolerate warez here, the only ban-exception are customers, in case a customer post shit to our board, notify me, I'll take care of it myself. Customers can be identifyed easily (they are listed as "Daemon Tools Supporters" and didn't have a daemon-tools rank name)
