    Hello
When I click on it, I get the message: There was a problem installing this hardware: hdc
Driver is not intended for this platform.
    I am running XP home.
I need to create the virtual IDE for playing The Witcher...
    what should i do?
    thanks

    Known issues:
    - DTPro Shell extensions do not appear on x64 platforms;
    - IDE Adapter is not supported on Windows XP (x64) and Windows Server 2003 (Advanced Edition)

i guess you're using one of those os' ?

also did you register as a customer?

I have the exact same problem, and I'm on 32bit XP Pro. It also says 'HDC' instead of 'Standard IDE/ESDI Hard Disk Controler'. Sometimes when I reinstall my chipset drivers it'll work after reboot, but the driver seems to want to break itself immediately upon the next reboot or shutdown, even though the drivers *appear* fine... DT still mounts all of the IDE virtual drives on a SCSI interface...? It really boggles my mind! It seems more like a driver problem than a DT problem, but any help or ideas anyone could provide would be great.

I'm getting these following problems when I try to enable an IDE drive. The hdc one persists even AFTER rebooting. I have no idea what the other ones mean but as for the part in the hdc error message where it says "Driver is not intended for this platform" I'm a little confused because as I understand it DT Pro is incompatible with 64x and I have 32x platform.

                  I have:

                  Windows XP
                  Professional
                  Version 2002
                  Service Pack 2

                  AMD Athlon 64 Processor
                  3000+
1.80 GHz 1 Gig of RAM

Dunno how much of that is relevant but hope it helps.
