Obviously a problem with Windows Installer service - which OS do you use?

            No Error In Install

            Ok, Daemon Tools works:
            Thanks for your help..
My next question is, Ive Mounted My Program...
Now what do I do...Im new to this whole thing...

But, Im kinda lost now...Its mounted, how do I run my program
and/or extract it onto my Hard Drive or whatever it does...Im aware that its a "Vritual Drive" , Im just not to sure how it works, and I dont want to mess up anything lol...
Now, I read the manual, and where it discussed
"Common Burnning Programs", thats another thing Im not sure of, do I need to download a burnning program? I dont believe the Manual Discussed it, it just mentioned 1:1/Burnning, etc...
            Or maybe I missed it,

            Thanks
            Jeff

              Operating System:
              Burning Software:
              Anti-virus Software:
              DAEMON Tools Version:

              Do you have a firm grasp on exactly what DAEMON Tools is used for? The whole idea behind it is that you can mount up to four CD images from your hard drive (in other words, you can make your computer think you have an additional four drives with CDs in them);
eliminating the need to have the real CDs in your real drive all the time. DAEMON Tools also has the ability to bypass several forms of copy protection commonly found on programs.

The first step is to get DT installed, which you seem to have done. The second step is to use a program to make an image of a CD you wish to mount; that means the program takes all of the information and puts it on your hard drive exactly the way it's found on the disc. After that you tell DT to mount the image, effectively putting the virtual CD in the virtual CD drive. Then, barring any copy protection issues, you're ready to go -- you might as well have the real CD in your real CD drive.

What exactly do you want to use DAEMON Tools for? It'd be easier to explain things if you were a bit more specific.

                Mounting

Well I right clicked on the icon, clicked Virtual CD/DVD-Rom/
Then clicked "Mount Image" And I mounted Visual Studio .NET
(Not the entire thing I dont believe, I think it was only the 3rd disc or something)

Now that thats done, is it on my HD(hard-drive)? Or do I have to burn it some how, or what happens next? Its still mounted, I have it minimized in my task tray here in the bottom right, wonderin what to do with it next hehe..

                Thanks
                Jeff

                  this happened to me.

                  Operating System: xp
                  Burning Software: clonecd
                  Anti-virus Software: norton
                  DAEMON Tools Version: 3.43

this happened to me too.. I installed DT and mounted an image and nothing happened.

So i just avoided DT and didn't use it until i reinstalled windows.. and it worked. the moment u mount a image, it will open it and open it as if a cd is in your cd-rom.(like if u mount an image of starcraft, the screen that says installation or play will pop up.. you know)

I don't exactly know why nothing popped up after i mounted an image but i think it was because of easycdcreater or some other program that was stopping me from making another "fake" drive, because there was no other new drive in my "My Compter" icon. so just try and mess with it and u might get the answer you would like to get.

i hope this will help you. :P

                    Image Mounted

Ok, I got it to where I can click on the drive, when
"Windows Installer" Pops Up, it looks like its getting ready to install
then it says to me "To Install this product Please Run Setup.exe, For other installation options, see the installation section of Readme.htm"

But the thing is, I read the readme, there is nothing there regarding this, it just goes to the MS (Microsoft) website.
At least I know now that it can install, but Im not sure how...
Just for piece of mind guys there are 3 different ISO's
(Three parts of Visual Studio) anyways I know I can't mount 3 files at once .... do I need 3 more drives? or how does this work

                    Thanks
                    Jeff

I think I figured out your problem. You mentioned that you were trying to mount the THIRD disc; it sounds like the program is looking for the first (or at least a different) one. Is there a reason you chose that particular disc to mount?

                          Reply

Welp, I mounted the first Disc, and Ill tell you what happens, I click on my new drive (that Daemon Tools Created) And it brings up the Windows Installer, And it looks like its about to install, just as any other program would...
But, then it gives me an error saying:
"To install this product, please run Setup.exe. For other installation options, please see the installation section of Readme.htm"
So I reviewd the Readme, and there is nothing at all that discusses the problem....

So, if any of you want the readme.htm my email is JMDDiGiovanni@msn.com

And, also I downloading a Bit-torrent client, downloaded the ISO's of
Visual Studio .NET (5 HR Download) then I try mounting them and installing them, nothing happens....even with disc one
                          Thanks guys

now you know why I always ask how they create the images...

you can save a lot of time doing so
