copy of POP3 I got off of bittorrent to work

ok I'm new here, and I wanna post my experiences. For the past two days, I've been trying to get the copy of POP3 I got off of bittorrent to work. I have the 3 CD release that came with a patch tool for the 3rd CD. After, several unsuccessfull attempts to bypass starforce (aka the F*CKING DEVIL) I tried one way that got past starforce, ONCE. and only once. after I exited the game, caught some Zzz's and tried to play again using the same method, I was caught with a system reboot about 1/4 of the way thru the "checking disc".

1. I uninstalled POP.
2. Used a regeditor to clear StarForce from my system COMPLETELY.
3. Shutdown.
4. Unplugged IDE and power to my Samsung combo DVD/CDR/RW drive.
5. Powered back up.
6. Mounted in Daemon, installed.
7. Asked to reboot to finish installing StarForce. Rebooted.
8. Entered CD Key I found of the web, since my torrent came with no NFO.
9. Worked, played for a bit.
10. Never worked again.

Now, I don't know why it worked once, i DIDN'T plug my optical drive back in. Here are my specs just in case.

Asus P4C800 Deluxe Mobo
P4 2.4Ghz w HT
i875p Chipset
Samsung DVD/CDR/W Combo Drive
