OK, there is NO OPT OUT for the ad-ware.
The installer gives you two packages, and allows you to install first AND / OR the second one. THERE IS NO OPTION TO INSTALL NEITHER AD-WARE PACKAGE!!! There seems to be a LOT of confusion about this, but if you attempt to install Dameon, and UNCHECK both AD-WARE packages, the INSTALLER WILL REFUSE to let you continue with the installation by greying out the Install button.
It sucks that they are FORCING you to install one or the other. I'm OK with Ad-ware as an option, but making it required means I will never use the new version. Unless there's a way around the installer I don't know about?
