  • Borrowed discs from my friend ... And no I can't get my friend's CD

    Ok so far I have:

    - Searched the forums
    - Followed ever possible direction
    - Borrowed discs from my friend

and still I can;t get Diablo 2 to work.

    OS: Windows XP
    Daemon Version: 4.03
    Image Burning: Alcohol 120%

So here's the more specific details.

2 of my 3 discs work, unfortunately I couldn't back up the Install Disc because of scratching. I burned the other two in .mds format with alcohol using Securom *NEW setting. I mounted and installed on my lowest virtual drive letter; ejecting the tray and re-mounting as if you would the regular CD's into a natural drive.

Take note that it worked before I installed the Diablo II Expansion and that the install disc I burned from my friend (as well as the expansion) was a .cue file.

I've also tried leaving the play disc in my natural drive while mounting the other two on virtual drives.

I've noticed then when I unistall that there are two Diablo II files in the Add / Remove programs list. The first i remove fine but the second says I need administrator privilleges but disappears shortly thereafter.

I can't really think of what else to do but burn the install disc onto a blank CD and try using it to my natural drive; but it worked once before when i used my virtual drives to install (I've also gone through 3 blank cd's; yeah i'm noobie)...

Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong? And no I can't get my friend's CD and I've tried making the .cue file into .mds (yeah I'm desperate)...

Lastly, I've also tried launching from Game.exe but it sounds like it's loading but nothing happens...

The screen goes to black but comes out with a server file / handle exception or something...

My emulation options are all on; and when I use my natural drive it says to insert the disc into the virtual drive but still the above happens...
Working...
