nice site! suggestions

ive been lurking/using daemon-tools for quite some time now, and after seeing the new page i've decided to register and say great work!
(plus, that screenshot of DT3 looks great!)

a few suggestions would be
- the orange envelope on the forum/news headings, it looks a bit weird since it just cuts off
- u might want to preload some of the mouseover images, for slower connections
- (not sure if you guys wanted this or not) but the top left banner "link" should lead to home, not the forums

aside from that, great work!
glad to see this isnt just a stale project

Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't understand, but I am not sure what image/link you're talking about. Is it the link on the /designs/blw/sp.gif image? Or maybe it has already been changed...

There is - but it is restricted to customers only, maybe we
later grant access to it also to users who posted at least
20 posts in the forum - not decided yet.

What concerns your "link" request - what do you mean?
The orange icon at the corner? That should lead you to
nowhere - it is just a graphic

Are we all talking about the top left banner "link"? That's what I was curious to see your comments about. And yes, that orange square does look square-ish but I think we'll all learn to love squares and the amazing amount of orange buttons on this forum.

OK, I think I have an idea of what twig is referring to in both cases. Twig, correct me if I am wrong here, but:

RE: The envelope icon being cut of - to me, even at 1600x1200 resolution, the right margin (orange) seems to be 1-2 pixels smaller than any of the other 3 margins (top, bottom, and left) - that is what (I think) twig meant by cut off....

RE: The top left icon - I think twig is referring to this icon:



It links back to the forums, and in the main menu on the left, there is *also* a link back to the forums, and thus no direct link to the main homepage / portal page.

johngalt, right on about the missing pixels and I agree that I'd expect clicking in the upper lefthand corner to lead to http://www.daemon-tools.cc or http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/announcements.php. I guess using the number 2 (www2) is temporary, so I didn't include it.
