Cann;t "read" DVD Drive... (Help Please...)

Hello, I am new here. (Please don't hold that against me..)

I've just installed Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120% And afterwards, somehow, I am unable to read my DVD drive. I put a disc in, and... nothing happens.

I have, basically: Athlon 3.2 CPU
1 Gig RAM
DVD-R/RW (D: )
CD-R/RW (E: )

Now, strangely, I can still access E: drive (CD-R/RW) with no problems. I've already popped some music CDs and data CDs with no probme. It's D Drive that is not accessing anything.

I've tried going back to a previous Restore Point. And even checked the Registry for anything adnormal. Device Manager tells me nothing new or abnormal as well. Nothing works. I even physically unpluged the drive and rebooted. Shut down, and re-connected the drive. Again, nothing. I believe that I've
exhausted all other options.

I sincerely hope someone here can help me overcome this problem.

I see quite a few "Absents" from this. Should I just delete all the drivers and re-install everything from scratch? Or would the inital problems within the system still remain?

Have about same problem

Have unistalled everything. The cd player spins up but indicates 0 byte on disk. If I insert the drive after boot up everything works as normal.
