Operating System: Windows 2000 Professional SP4
Burning Software: Nero Burning ROM 5.5.9.0
Anti-virus Software: Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition 7.61
DAEMON Tools Version: 3.33
I have a problem with VMware. Here is how to reproduce.
1. Create a new virtual machine on VMware for Windows XP Pro as guess OS
2. Config the new virtual machine to boot from drive X:
3. Mount Windows XP Pro image (.bin created by CDRWIN on other machine) to drive X:
4. Start the virtual machine under VMware
The VM won't boot due to an error: "CDBOOT: Memory overflow error"
Now if I use Nero to burn WinXP-Pro.bin ( which is mounted to drive X: ) to Nero virtual recorder to create WinXP-Pro.nrg and use Nero ImageDrive 2.16 to mount the .nrg image to another virtual CD drive, config the VM to boot from the new drive, it will boot to WinXP installation without any problem.
The VMware versions tested: VMware Workstation 4.0.0 and VMware GSX Server 2.5.1 . Same problem for both.
When I use Daemon Tools to mount the .nrg image, it won't boot. Same problem as mounting .bin .
