v4.09.1 breaks grabbing in Exact Audio Copy

The modem IS USB. I was finally able to get everything working again, but it wasn't until after I'd gone into the registry with regedit and completely removed the SPTD key.

I'm going to try to reinstall again and see if I get the same problem.

it could have a problem, there are cases in the forum of peoples usb devices going screwy...

I was having the same problem with EAC once I installed 4.091. I did some reading yesterday here, on the EAC forums, and over at DuplexSecure. I unistalled SPTD and EAC started working again. I then moved to the beta version of SPTD (v1.45) and things continued to work except my DSL connection immediately died.

Once I uninstalled SPTD 1.45, my DSL came up again immediately. I then installed DT 4.08 (since everything had been fine prior to my upgrading). Everything continued to work (DSL, EAC, DT). About an hour in, I suddenly lost my DSL connection. I have checked the modem and it's fine, as are the connections. I uninstalled DT and SPTD, but I'm still stuck offline. I've posted about this over at DuplexSecure's forums (), but I'm cross-posting here just in case anyone else has tips.

I AM going to get a tech to come check my modem and the DSL line...but I've NEVER had a single problem with either before and this seems too coincidental.

But one question I would still like to be answered is: why "uninstall" doesn't uninstall? (Using SPTDinst-v145-x86.exe.. or previous versions.)

Because of your system. Something is different to the many
systems where it works properly. That difference must be
found to adapt the uninstaller to such situation.

Honestly, I dont know, for 99% of the people the uninstaller works properly.

You should ask such question at duplex-forum! Maybe there are
even more people with your problem. And they can adress
that issue directly

It seems that the problem is solved in SPTD Public Beta v1.45 X86 (32 bit)
(I just tested the new driver by using EAC to grab CD,no problem at all)

Right after I have uninstalled SPTD1.43, Exact Audio Copy works correctly again. Please release a patch to correct this bug

Pentium 4 2.4C,1.5GB DDR 400 RAM,Asus P4P800 board (ICH5R)

Plextor DVDRW PX-760A and LITEON CDRW LTR 52327S BOTH have the problem mentioned in the post when using EAC to rip CD after using Daemon-Tools 4.09 with SPTD latest version.

Do not have problem when using the older version Daemon-Tools 4.08 with old version SPTD bundled


OS:Windows XP PRO 32bit SP2 (fully patched up to date)

I too have the same problem with EAC and Audiograbber, which are all affected by this problem.

I have an LG GSA-E10L external DVD Rewriter (which is a rebaged HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-E10L).

I have an Intel Pentium 4 (532) mobile processor at 3.06GHz and an Intel i855GM/GME motherboard.

OS = XP SP2 fully patched up to date.

I also have Anydvd 6.1.3.6 installed.

The solutions mentioned above work perfectly, so it is an SPTD conflict.

It would be appreciated if Daemon Tools developers would remove the current SPTD version and go back to the previous version as it breaks all Audio ripping software.

Hmm.. there must be somekind of misunderstanding now, I thought I specifically said that SPTD _was not_ uninstalled using SPTDinst-v143-x86.exe from Duplex Secure site! Selecting the uninstall just stopped it (after reboot). Running SPTDinst-v143-x86.exe again tells me that "No SPTD version was detected.", uninstall option greyed out. SPTD is in Windows Device Manager. How's that uninstalled?

I think that this is pretty simple and this could be so easily explained with just one picture, but I'm not allowed to do that..

We all have found out that the problem is with SPTD, not DT, but still you have to be interested since you're distributing SPTD with your program. I wonder how many times I have to post about this to get you to read & respond properly. No offence... really.

What concerns EAC this problem is under investigation and as soon as fix is available you will be informed.

I have an ASUS P4P800 board (ICH5R) and one LG CD-RW drive named HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8520B (ATA, Secondary Channel, Intel(R) 82801EB Ultra ATA Storage Controllers).

This seem to be a problem with SPTD in your case so we can report it to Duplex Secure for investigation.

It would be nice if somebody could also ask the three questions I asked couple of posts ago. Or summarized question: why doesn't "uninstall" uninstall? (Still waiting advice on _real_ uninstalling methods.) Thank you. I don't want to register to or read Duplex Secure's forum, so somebody could post relevant answers to here. I believe that would serve all DAEMON Tools users.

Please report which CDROM device you grab from and where it is attached (ATA, SATA, USB etc) and what controller.
