Windows 7 Devices and Printers Daemon Tools virtual drive entry sticks

An entry for the virtual drive stays under Devices and Printers in Windows 7 even after removing the virtual drive (I don't want to always have it since I rarely use it).
If I re-add the drive later on it doesn't create multiple entrys. (Uses the same virtual driver)

Is it intentional for it to remain there?
Also will it be removed if i ever uninstall daemon tools?
I didn't test but I bet that if you add multiple drives you will get an entry for each one, and I bet they wont be removed either, but they probably will be reused just the same.

Which DT version are you using?

DT Lite v4.35.5
Windows 7 Ultimate RTM
Avast! Antivirus 4.8
No other CD burning, emulation software

Also are you sure it is DT's virtual drive and not some other weird thing as DT doesn't install its virtual drive into Devices and Printers.

Yes I'm quite sure "VSZURIF VOTUN4DYVS SCSI CdRom Device" belongs to daemon Tools

Plus the following:

• It displays an exclamation mark during adding and removing it via daemon tools.
• I don't have anything connected as SCSI to my computer. (Except Daemon Tools which seems to use virtual SCSI)
• My real drive is an optiarc something, so it isn't it. (Real disc drives don't appear in devices and printers anyhow, which is weird since why did Daemon Tools's one reach there in the first place)
• A random device name is something I know Daemon Tools does.
• It appears under hardware in the disc properties when its installed (added) and dissappears when removed.
• It has the same device name under device properties in Daemon Tools

I think its enough proff...

As I said I dont have any other virtualization software which could have done it.
It's quite weird especielly since it doesn't dissappear after Daemon Tools supposedly removes the device.

Try deleting it in registry:
Start -> Regedit -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\enum\s csi\CdRom&Ven_VSZURIF&Prod_VOTUN4DYVS

First you must set there owner (also check Replace owner on subcontainers ...), then set everyone Full Access (also replace permission entries on all child object...).

Im kinda afraid of doing this, since I really don't have time for handling issues that might come after (Probably with Daemon Tools). and since daemon tools does successfully remove it from my computer where it disturbs me i'd rather not try something like this.

Maybe I or someone should try and reproduce this on another computer just to know if its a bug in daemon tools or something weird on my comp, and maybe test if this fixes it.

Above is deleting the virtual drive completely (of course try above when DT is uninstalled).

Just reproduced it and i don't see why it should be there (no physical drive is listed there), will ask devs why.
