  • Reboots by itself after install!!!

    Operating System: WinXP Pro SP2
    Burning Software: Nero
    Anti-virus Software: Nonce
    DAEMON Tools Version: V3.47, V3.46

    OK, I had V 3.46 and just got V 3.47.
After install is complete, I see a window that says "Install is complete blah blah..."
and my computer freezes, and restarts. It happends with 3.47 and 3.46.
To try and install again I have to erase reg keys and system32/drivers files. After winXP is loaded, the shortcut turns... blank... target says "none". It leads nowhere. And after I unistall reg keys and stuff, I uninstall PnP bios extension thingy.
I've spent over 3 hours trying to figure out what is wrong. Please help me.

Right now I tried installing 3.47 again, it rebooted even before the completerd screen showed up!!
Great, THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENS WITH ALCOHOL %120 TRIAL.

Check if you have a minidump C:\WINDOWS\Minidump and post the file here .

If there is no minidump tune windows to get one (in configuration pannel / system properties / Advanced / Start and ... / Parameters / Write debug data .

Names are not exact as my windows version is french .

            Operating System: WIN XP SP2
            Burning Software: NERO
            Anti-virus Software: FSECURE
            DAEMON Tools Version: 3.47

My system makes the same thing. Once the installing part comes to a close the system boots without asking anything. Then I try to open Daemon tools and it says no language support detected. I think it won't install all the necessary files before booting.

This thing came up after installing Service pack 2.

Check for minidump (see above), and send newest file to support@daemon-tools.cc for analysis.

Your problem is caused by Starforce drivers, check thread about BSOD in SCSIPORT.SYS in common problems and solutions forum.

                    Operating System: XP
                    Burning Software: Nero + Alcohol
                    Anti-virus Software: none
                    DAEMON Tools Version: 3.47

Yep, I had the same problem, and after removing starforce drivers everything went fine 8)

Thanks, now Daemon works There is still something weird going on because it asked something about Alcohol 120 program during install. That it(Alcohol) is suspended and do you want to keep the changes or undo them? I checked c:\windows\system32\drivers and register and no signs of alcohol install anywhere...

                        Your minidump shows Alcohol drivers.

                          Operating System: Windows XP Pro
                          Burning Software: BlindWrite
                          Anti-virus Software: AVG
DAEMON Tools Version: tried from 3.44 to 3.47

I had like the same problem but a bit harder I think.
A few weeks ago my d-tools v3.44 worked fine. I wanted to use an Image, so I activated a virtual drive and my system crashed. After the system rebooted it crashed instantly again. So I turned off autorestart after next reboot (I had to be fast). Then it crashed again and again. I didn't know what to do so I reinstalled WIndows. I had nothing installed except the most important drivers. When I installed d-tools v3.47 it crashed instantly. One time the system restarted I was fast enough to uninstall them.

Then I wanted to try Alcohol 120% to use an Image. After the installation my system restarted, so I instantly uninstalled Alc 120%.

My system must have huge problems with virtual drives I think. It would be nice if you could say how I could solve them.

My drivers I installed before using the d-tools are:

                          ATI Catalyst 4.9
                          VIA Hyperion 4in1 Mainboard Drivers
                          Creative LiveDrivers
                          DirectX 9

                          Thx for replies

Check if you've minidump in Windows\Minidump folder related to those BSODs, if so send newest file to support@daemon-tools.cc with reference to this thread.

The BSOD is probably caused by PCATIP.SYS which is part of Blindwrite, try to uninstall or update.
