    Windows XP SP2
    nero removed
    no antiblaxx

I can't install daemon for some reason, I have never had anti blaxx and I have removed nero incase image drive is the problem. I have removed all references to d347* in my registry and have no daemon drivers installed.

The problems seemed to have happened when I tried to install star wars battlefront 2. Daemon stopped working so I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it began having errors, it began with the error 25061 so I cleared all references in my registry and eventually it fixed it, now I keep getting a 25031 error when I try to install daemon. It usually pops a dialog to install drivers for scsi/raid host controller, it finds a driver that is signed by microsoft, but then errors after the install, saying "the data is invalid". I have no scsi drivers or references in my device manager. I've pasted my install log and can paste my setupapi log if needed. I really appreciate any and all help.

It says the log is too long so I'll add it to replys below.

daemon was installed before and stopped working so I am trying to reinstall it and it won't let me, I think its crashing because of the install for the scsi controller.

The log is to large for a single post so I'll post it in a couple of posts.

Error 25061 means SetupDiGetClassDevs API fails - either due to a screwed OS or its registry (e.g. permissions).
So seems either you or a program you used changed the registry permissions.

            Hardware Install Invalid Data Fix

Alright I ended up fixing it. For those that are getting the invalid data issue when the scsi/raid host controller tries to install, this is how i finally fixed it.

The way I did it was by replacing the system registry file with the repair one from windows. After I did that I had to reinstall all of my hardware drivers and service pack 2 but I was able to install daemon tools.

To start make sure that you download or have the disks for the drivers for all of your hardware including motherboard, etc. After this you are going to replace the file SYSTEM in the \windows\system32\config folder with the one found in the \windows\repair folder. You have to use either the recovery console through your windows xp disk or some kind of live disk that can read and write to ntfs drives, I like the Bart PE windows live disk, but linux ones should work too. Just replace the files and reboot your computer. Once that happens the only things you have left are to install all of your hardware drivers and possible your service pack, you may not be able to use the windows update site so search microsoft site for the stand alone version of the service pack and download and install that, then you should be uble to perform the rest of the updates. This shouldn't touch any of your software products. Once thats done install daemon tools. It worked for me hopefully it works for others.

************NOTE: Make sure you backup at the very least the entire system registry and create a restore point****************

            Good Luck!
