Virtual Drive Activity

As a nice-to-have, could/would you add an optional drive activity animation (Display drive read/write - write when it becomes available) similar to the network systray icon except, as stated, optional, like the network icon in vista. I'd like to know when stuff is happening (like when I look at a physical cd/dvd-rom).

The only problem I could see with such a feature, is that it gives the CP makers another avenue of attack for blacklisting.
