Add drag-n-drop image file

I often need to install some downloaded program from a image file.

I'd like to drag the .iso onto Daemon Tools and have it mount the image.

Ideally something like:

1) Drag file from Windows Explorer onto Daemon Tools taskbar icon or main window. This automatically mounts the image file in the first available virtual drive.

2) Drag file from Windows Explorer onto Daemon Tools virtual drive icon. Mount file on specific drive.

3) Drag file from Windows Explorer onto Daemon Tools image icon area and add image to library of known images.

Optionally, when file is dragged onto DT with no drive specified, pop up a dialog with for example [Drive1: Drive 1: Any] to allow specific drive or first available drive to be chosen.

I think lots of people will enjoy this feature and it should be easy to implement.

You can use shell extensions functionality for now (DAEMON Tools Professional Help: Shell extensions).

Thanks for your feedback. That sounds like a good work around.

I just remembered why I don't use that feature. The context menu items are often not there for me. They sometimes are and sometimes aren't. There is another thread elsewhere where several forum members discuss this issue. I just checked and I do have shell extensions enabled and some file extensions associated, configurable from the DTPro Tools -> Preferences menu.

I just checked this functionality. It works good. Pay attention that additional context menu items appears not for all file types. E.g. you have an image in mdf/mds format. You will be able to use these commands only for .mds file, not for .mdf.

This is what my preferences looks like (attached).
I see no 'mount' or other DT items in my context menu. I certainly have seen them and used them before. The menu occasionally appears for a while. It is currently missing.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. I use Windows Explorer. I also have these programs installed which may appear as Windows Explorer context menu extensions...
