It's quite simple, provide an option to REMOVE "Image Catalog" item from the Explorer Navigation Pane.
The namespace entry is at:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{2C7DDECF-7A8E-48A5-A744-8F45D20FB1A9}
However I do not know the correct value for the REG_DWORD .\ShellFolder\Attributes to remove the item myself...
