I think that adding the ability to convert from Virtual-to-Virtual (V2V), Physical-to-Virtual (P2V) or even Virtual-to-Physical (V2P) for business and enterprise customers would be a nice idea.

Suggestion for DAEMON Tools Ultra

I don't know if you are an advanced user, or interested in the tiny details regarding HOW, or not, but here are the questions I was wondering when I was trying to think how much programming work would be involved:
I suppose such features would involve injecting drivers into or disabling drivers in the SYSTEM registry hive of various 32 and 64 bit windows versions, and then making sure that the bootloader can find the OS partition. What do you think about supporting mac or linux? Is there any open source project that has figured out how (how to convert P2V,etc) or any other documentation regarding how to do this?
p.s. remember I only speak as a tester of DAEMON Tools and have no idea if the developers want to spend time on this.Last edited by Underheaven; 08.01.2014, 04:22.the modern world:

P2V, V2V & V2P migration would take a lot of work to develop initially; however I believe that it would eventually be worth it as these features could be marketed to businesses. Paragon is currently doing this as well as VMware and Acronis; all of which are proprietary.
I only know of one open source project, but it is web-based and provides a semi-automated method of migration.
It's called openQRM:
