Loopback works but is pretty sucky, there's no copy protection support, now people will say that linux doesn't need it because there aren't enough games but they're dead wrong, linux needs this desperately. Most people playing games on linux are doing so with the help of wine, and cedega/winex using this generally means having to crack EVERYTHING even when you legitimately own the cd/dvd, daemontools as an alternative or supplement to loopback would help immensely. A native linux port would be great, but failing that, could the sourcecode to daemon tools PLEASE be released? linux supports only 3 cd formats right now, .iso (iso9660) .bin and .nrg the last two have to be run through converters to turn them into .iso files which loopback can then mount, so as anyone can see it's a very annoying process on linux.not to mention the number of alcohol format discs which people share around nowadays that linux users can't use at all, WE NEED DAEMONTOOLS!

We've enough to do with Windows version, so Linux version is not very likely.
The source code will NOT be released, Daemon Tools is NOT open source and NOT freeware!
Everybody be cool! You, be cool!
They'll keep fighting! And they'll win!

              Or...

...request for a kernel extension that adds support for more CD-ROM Image formats for the "mount" command.
