  • Option to 'Slow down' virtual drive

    Hi,

I just bought a license of daemon tools as support to the great team ^^.

I would like to suggest an option that can control the speed of virtual drive, as the latest starforce emulation only work when the hardisk drive is slowed down.

Currently 2 techniques are used for this purpose, first is to set the hardisk mode to PIO. However even if this work, the game takes very long time to initialize and seems 'jerky' in game due to low hdd performance.

Second technique is to run image dumping from that virtual drive; and during the dumping process, run the game. This method had higher success rate than the first one; much faster to initialize and wont jerk in game. After going into the game, Alt-tab to windows and cancel the image dumping.

Additional 3rd method may be to copy the image into USB thumb drive (> 1Gb size) and mount from there (will try tonight)

All methods above require removing of cd-drive either physically or by using software.

    Thank you~

That would be great! Some games like Empire at War are requiring that kind of process to work!

The bad thing is that you have to unplug your drives... but maybe that can be fixed!
