I am using build 5456 and here is what happens when I install Daemon tools 4.03HE with the 1.25 driver:

        1. Daemon tools says it needs to reboot to install the driver
        2. After successful reboot, Daemon tools finishes installing.
        3. Upon launching Daemon tools, I receive this error: "Unable to add adapter. Unable to open file in kernel mode."

        Hope this helps!

          • I am running build 5464 and am getting the exact same error message. This message appears every time I start Daemon tools. I tried multiple compatibility fixes, enabled unsigned drivers, and ran it as an administrator, but to no avail.

                  I'll putt Beta2 (5384) on a new partition, next to 5456 & xp!
I will try out a little more with that public build and let you guys know about the differences (if there are any).

Stay in touch and thanks for replying.

                  • Event log on Vista can be seen in Computer Management (run compmgmt.msc or open it via Control Panel->Administrative Tools) under SystemTools->EventViewer->Windows Logs->System: if you see some error entries from sptd ot dtscsi
then switch to Details tab in user-friendly mode and specify binary data that may be present here.

Does the mentioned error appear immeditely when DT starts or
                    after some significant timeout?

In vista 5456, Directly after completion of install the 4.03he + sptd1.25, I get the error the first time i want to load DT !
After the installation, i 've no scsi controller in the device manager ( funny because the installation completes with luck)
Its only when i load DT that i get the error (and also i have the dt's icon in the taskbar during that time only)

Its hard to explain, this is why i gave a screenshot last time.

I want to thank you guys for the interest and the hint for the error loo location

I also want to say that i freshly installed Beta 2 5384 on a new partition of my HD. I will test the 4.03 + 1.25sptd in it in a moment.

                      I Let you guys know!

                      • Ok! Daemon Tools 4.03he Works With Vista Beta 2

... But only with the public build of vista: Vista Beta 2 (5384.4)

I did a clean install of 5384 on a new partition!
After installation of drivers and updates, I installed the Latest Daemon Tools ( 4.03HE With Sptd update - 32Bit ).

All went perfect. The scsi controller installs the first time you open daemon tools. So endly we got Beta 2 ( and only beta 2 ) running fine with DT4.03.

Thank you to the team - Great work like always

PS: There is a but... DT4.03 only works with Beta 2 (5384) because its the free public build etc...
I'm actually trying it out with build 5456 of vista and it doesn't work !!! Hope this gets fixed too. One big reason is that ANti Alliazing is present in 5456 and games are much faster.

I know by experience that earlier installation of DT, messed up the good installation of the new one. Maybe i will make a fresh install of vista 5456 also and try to install latest DT after that. I let you know.
I'm ready to help and thanks for replying!

Ok, After it finally succeded with Beta2, I did a fresh install of build 5456 and i tried the latest DT (4.03HE + Sptd1.25).
Guess what? It still doesn't work in 5456.

Its true that when i look at build 5456, There are many changes in this build in comparison to beta2 5384.
I hope we will find a solution because games are really faster in 5456.

Here is a screen of the error log:
