Feel like a real dum dum when I see all the real "tecky" questions, but why do I get this error msg when trying to get Daemon tools. I'm having a prob updating my Windows from 98 to Xp with error: G:\1386\mfc42.dll cannot copy to C:\WINDOWS\setup\mfc42.dll also cannot copy G:\1386migisol.exe to C:\WINDOWS\setup\migisol.exe

If you want to use DT on a WIn98 system then you need to install DT 3.47, for WIn 2000,XP,... get DT 4.06.

Please do NOT upgrade OS while Daemon Tools is installed!
Remove Daemon Tools, then upgrade, and re-install Daemon Tools.
For Win9x/ME you must continue to use v3.47, v4.0x supports Windows 2000 and higher only.

Better yet, do not upgrade Windows period. Upgrading from one version of Windows to another is always a bad idea.

Thanks for the info..I managed to get DT. Unfortunately I have to upgrade Windows as I need to download Office System Professional... I need the Excel spread sheets for a new job & it won't d/l as it states my OS will not support it. Is the only option to buy a new computer?????
