Unable to uninstall Daemon 4.06

My system hangs at window spash screen after installing 4.06. Tried to uninstall through control panel, no entry there, tried through program list and was told to reboot to continue. System hung again. Got windows loaded and was told to uninstall sptd, did so and rebooted. Tried to uninstall again and am told could not validate installation. Read many posts with this problem and tried to delete some sys files that were mentioned, they did not exist. Posts led to install version 4.03, not 06, tried that and system hung again on reboot. I want to know how to get rid of this version manually.
