Initialization error 5

I read searched and read thru majority of the threads regarding this problem. This is what I have done in order to fix the problem:
* Deleted the Daemon Tools directory in C:\ (some it cannot be uninstalled with something like "Cannot validate previous version");
* Installed SPTD 1.50 and rebooted (attempted both on normal/safe modes);
* Reinstall DT 4.09.1.
However, problem persists. When the machine starts, it has the following error messages:
* "daemon.exe - Unable To Locate Component: This application has failed to start because CFGMGR32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem";
After i clicked "OK", the second screen pops up;
* "Initialization error 5 - This program requires at least Windows 2000 with SPTD 1.43 or higher. Kernel debugger must be deactivated."
My machine is currently running XP sp2.

Your Windows install is corrupted. That file is a component of Windows itself. Try this:

Insert your Windows XP disc into the drive
(ignore this step if your OS was preinstalled and you don't have a disc)
Click Start -> Run and type SFC /SCANNOW
Let it run through the check

If that doesn't work, you may need to do a repair install (MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE SPTD AND DTOOLS FIRST!)
