  • System Hangs at closedown

    Hi,

Just upgraded my system from an old Gigabyte mobo to a DFI LanParty with the following configuration :-

    Windows ME
DFI LanParty NF II AMD XP 3200+
    512mb Ram
    800gb HD (5x160) (Raid 1.5)
    PNY Geforce Ti440 128 8x AGP
    PNY Geforce 440 128 PCI
    Pioneer 115 DVD Rom
    Pioneer DVR 106D DVD +- R/RW
    Sony CD Burner 52x32x52

My problem is the computer hangs on closedown if Daemon tools is installed, if i remove deamon tools everything is fine again, the mobo uses nvidia nforce2 chipset and requires its own raid drivers to work correctly. I have tryed several versions of the software with no luck (3.16, 3.17, 3.2.3, 3.2.9, 3.3.3, 3.4.1) has anyone got any ideas how i may solve this problem?

    Thanks ffredd...

It happens too if you unmount all virtual drives before reboot?

yes, all the vertual drives are unmounted, it seems to reboot but not closedown. start - shutdown - restart workes 99% of the time with or without the vertual drive having a mounted image file, but start - shutdown - shutdown hangs everytime. the only work-around i've found is setting the system to restart then powering off on the POST screen.

If you exit tray icon (daemon.exe) do you still have problems?
