Cannot SPTD=> Cannot install DT

Did you check related thread in common problems and solutions forum yet?
Do you see any SPTD related error messages in system eventlog (run eventvwr.msc)? Post the entire error message incl. all binary bytes then.

SPTD Problem

I have the exact same problem. My problem originated when I upgraded from Windows Vista Home Basic to Premium(32 Bit). Previously on Vista Home Basic I had daemon tools pro and V4 installed and running without a hitch. I did not uninstall them during the upgrade process. After the upgrade on execution of DT Pro/V4 I would receive the following messages for each application.
"Initialisation error 0.
The program require at least window 2000 with SPTD 1.43 or higher. Kernel Debugger needs to be deactivated"
I filtered through the forums and related posts and uninstalled my versions of DT by deleting the according folders and removing the sptd with sptd deleter, sptdinstall.exe and changing its value regedit from 0 to 4.
However, upon trying to install my previous versions of DT Pro, DT V4 and even the latest version of DT Lite The installation seems to loop as it asks for a reboot after each time it attempts to install sptd version 1.53. I have even tried to install the sptd version manually prior each DT install with no avail.

Seems some settings are wrong in registry. Download SPTD installer: http://www.duplexsecure.com/downloads
Then re-install SPTD layer (select "Update"), and reboot. It should fix this problem.

Hmmm

Now here's the thing. I did that before but just for luck I tried it again as you said. Now I ran the SPTD installer and there is no option to "Update". So I installed it again and it prompts me to reboot. I reboot, run the installer again and it tells me that "No SPTD version was detected. Select an action to be performed." "Install or Cancel"

SPTD doesn't seem to be installing onto my Comp through any conventional means.

I suggest you just delete whole SPTD key then and reboot.
Then retry again.
