Computer freezes 10-15 seconds after mounting a CD image

Windows XP home edition (5,1 build 2600)
Intel core 2 quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
NVIDIA GeForce 8800gt 512 mb
Pheonix ROM BIOS PLUS version 1.10 2.5.0

Alrighty, everything worked fine until this morning when I tried to load up my old fallout 2 game using the ccd image, got to the installation screen and then the entire computer just froze. I have tried multiple restarts, different versions of daemon tools (4.12 and the new 4.30) and even other mounting software and so far nothing works. No matter what image I try to run it just freezes up and I have to do a hard reset in order to get my pc working again.

Any help would be very much appreciated, I can't figure out why it has been working fine for weeks up until now.

Maybe you could try burning the CD then testing to see if the install still freezes.

I've got the same problem, when I use any image, the computer just freezes after about 30-40 sec, all I can do is reset it, even ctrl-alt-del won't work.
I've tried safe mode, and all different emulation combinations.
Any suggestions
