  • Error in disc imaging

I'm disc imaging and I keep getting the same message "Read operation had hit a ECC/EDC bad (recoverable) block (823)" What does this mean?

This means DT found a read error.
This is normal for copy protection SafeDisc on CDs.
Make something idiot proof, but then they just make a better idiot

You can try using a program like alcohol or the pro version of Daemon tools ensuring that the option skip read errors is enabled(or in Daemon tools case perhaps the safedisc profile selected) and see how that works out for you.

As suggested by Qwynbleid try to create your image with the
Safedisc profile of DAEMON Tools Pro or Alcohol 52%/120%.
Those errors will be skipped then and image creation continous.
Depending on your drive the skipping of those typical defective sectors (they'll end around sector 10000)
can take from a minute to half an hour.
I'm not employed by Disc Soft and my views do not necessarily reflect the ones of the company.
