"DT Lite has stopped working" error immediately after starting the program

My OS is Win7. It worked fine when all of a sudden it started crashing. I've tried reinstalling dt lite, reinstalling sptd but with no luck.

Did you install any third-party software before this problem appeared?

I don't really remember but I'm quite certain that I didn't. Nevertheless if these 3rd party applications would have deleted some necessary files, reinstallation of SPTD and DT should have corrected the issue.

not if the applications were anti virus / security software which flagged dt files as bad (incorrectly obviously, but some do it).. in which case reinstalling would just repeat the circle again
