Sorry , i haven't searched the web before but there is an easy solution.
Just replace the AM18.dll in your install dir with the attached one.

Should I unmount a drive before restarting or shutting down the computer?

Not needed - but i do it

What about when I install other programs, should I unmount all drives and exit DT Pro Agent?

In some rare cases apps/games protected by SecuROM make a disc check already during installation, and with another (virtual or physical) disc present that check might fail.

Should I have had RMPS in Preferences\Advanced since I used an MDX image?. Should I be concerned that I didn't have it enabled while creating the image?

No, RMPS emulation is only needed for physical RMPS copies burned with Alcohol 120%.

When I want to uninstall a program, should I make sure to have the image for the program unmounted?

No, in rare cases it's even needed to have the disc inserted to be able to uninstall.

I have a question about Half-Life, will I have a problem playing online with it mounted with DT?. I haven't played HL/CS since Steam came out.

I successfully wrote the SHOGO.mdx file to a CD-R using ImgBurn. I thought it would just copy the image to the disc as is, but it doesn't. It extracts the contents of the image and burns it like an original. So I can use this CD on another computer without DT and not need the CD after-wards?.

I wasn't aware that ImgBurn is capable of burning MDX images.
If the burning was ok that CD can be used on another PC without DT.

If you want to burn an image to a CD as is open the DT Pro Image Editor.
At the lower left choose ISO9660 + Joilet as File system and your burner as Target device.

I wasn't aware that ImgBurn is capable of burning MDX images.

When you select the source file, select "all files" instead of the default-"all supported files". Then open the MDX image. It worked fine, I ran a test first before burning. Then burned the disc with verify selected.
