DT-Lite / SPTD / Comodo Internet Security 5.0.X FIX - Simple!
First things first, I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with all the latest updates as of 11/5/2010, and have updated my SPTD to v1.74.
If you have Comodo Internet Security 5.0.X, and DT Lite 4.35.x, you know there are problems.
The easiest, fastest fix I've found that doesn't totally CRIPPLE CIS or bork DT is:
1) Install DT as usual.
2) Install CIS as usual.
3) When you launch DT (i.e. post-install reboot), you'll get the SPTD error indicating that kernel debugging must be disabled.
4) Don't freak out, just open CIS, go to Defense+, Defense+ Settings, Execution Control tab, then the Exclusions button.
5) Click Add, Browse, then browse to your DT installation folder.
6) Select DTLite.exe, then click the "->" arrow to add it to the list.
7) Click Apply, then Apply again, then OK to go to main CIS window.
8) You may need to reboot.
9) Launch DT, and things should work fine now.
The problem on a system with CIS seems to be that DT starts so early in boot process that CIS can't throw up a warning popup because the "buffer overflow attempt" has already happened, and doesn't seem to get logged either.
