Daemon tools file ending association problem

Hi,
I'm now writing this for a friend as after uninstall of DAEMON Tools Lite v4.40.2 (with SPTD 1.76) on windows7 x64
he can't launch any programs anymore.
It seems Daemon tools reassociated all file endings somehow or something like that.
All icons on his desktop are now white folders, which, when cliked ask you what program to launch it with. And the only available option is Media player.

What can he do to fix this?

(He also had PowerISO installed at the same time)

I assume at some point your friend was prompted how to open an exe ...and for whatever
reason he selected DAEMON Tools.
