SCSI vs DT Virtual Drive

"Daemon Tools initially emulated SCSI devices (these were easier to do) but this led to media checking software (e.g. SafeDisc, SecuROM) refusing to work on SCSI drives, so the Pro version added IDE support. Subsequent updates courtesy of media checkers led to DT using a "hidden driver" SPTD to avoid detection - DT drives don't use this driver (which, being hidden, may be flagged as a rootkit by some software)."
Not mine but good information on the subject.

Principally they should go head to head.
You can check with the Benchmark test of Nero DiscSpeed 6.2.3
Nero DiscSpeed - Freeware - EN - Download.CHIP.eu
Images containing Data Position/Topology information (e.g. SecuROM)
constitute an exception and will read slower in vSCSI.I'm not employed by Disc Soft and my views do not necessarily reflect the ones of the company.

Those older versions are standalone programs without setup and therefore without a shortcut.
But i can't get that very version from chip.eu working either
You can try version 4.7.7.16 instead:
Download Nero CD-DVD Speed v4.7.7.16 (freeware) - AfterDawn: Software downloads
I've also attached latest version 7.0.2.100 (already extracted from setup).
