After some minutes i deleted it myself cause i found there's a bug in Astroburn lite when burning Mulisession images.
But now that i understand your intention (verify original against image) that wouldn't have been practical anyway.

P.S.:
in case you don't want the SPTD access layer on your system you can separately uninstall it afterwards
with the standalone installer.
Without SPTD Alcohol will display an error message at startup and no virtual SCSI drives can be created,
but Image Creation isn't affected and still functioning

MDS v1, CCD and NRG are the formats that can be used with both DT lite and ImgBurn
- but only single track NRG image support in ImgBurn !

*.mds output is enabled by default via the "Image Layout File Format" options (along with *.cue which cannot be deselected), but ImgBurn only outputs *.mds files for data discs (and *.cue files for audio discs) as far as I can tell.

If I select "CCD" as an output option, I get *.ccd+*.img+*.cue files. DAEMON Tools won't mount the *.img file. Attempting to mount the *.ccd file results in an enigmatic error message:

Unable to mount image. Unable to access sub-channel file.

I don't know anything about *.nrg files and was not aware that either program supported them, but if the "single track" comment is any indication, that format would, of course, be useless for my purposes since I'm trying to construct images of multi-track discs.

You could create a CCD image using the free edition of Alcohol 52% (Datatype Audio CD+).
Older Alcohol versions which still create MDS v1 images aren't compatible with Windows 7 x64.

I'll look into this. ImgBurn can verify *.ccd files in case Alcohol 52% lacks that functionality.

I wasn't aware that you also intend to burn the image.
DT lite doesn't provide an own burn engine but it can call up Astroburn Lite - which has a verify option.

Apparently, I used incorrect terminology. I meant to say "ripping tool" rather than "burning tool".

I'm using the "Verify" feature after I ripped one disc to find that playback from the mounted *.bin image would exhibit a minor skip while playback from the source disc was fine. Apparently, the disc did not rip correctly.

I subsequently learned from the ImgBurn forums that it's impossible to verify an audio disc's data during the ripping process (unlike with DVDs), so this verification process is needed to make sure that data is ripped without errors. (Apparently, DVDs do not necessarily rip correctly either though given that one still failed this verification process. That's substantially better than with CDs though; all but two of the images that I had ripped prior to using this process failed verification.)

Anyway, removing all three instances of "REM" had no effect. Apparently, DAEMON Tools is silently ignoring the unrecognized "SESSION" lines.

Yes, it appears that the creators of IsoBuster extended the (unspecified) *.cue format and the author of ImgBurn adopted this extension for multisession support.

e.g. an MDS or MDX image created with DAEMON Tools lite should include all data accessible.

I tested this, and, indeed, both *.mds+*.mdf and *.mdx images created via DAEMON Tools Lite function correctly as Enhanced CDs when mounted.

Unfortunately, DAEMON Tools offers no functionality comparable to ImgBurn's "Verify" feature, so I can't be sure if the disc data was recorded 100% correctly. That makes me not want to use DAEMON Tools as a burning tool. I tried verifying DAEMON Tools' *.mds file via ImgBurn, but got the following error message:

Invalid or unsupported image file format!

Reason: Only version 1.x MDS files are supported and this one is version 2.0.

So it looks like Enhanced CDs are supported after all, just not in the way that I'd like. Guess I'll have to figure something else out. Thanks for the help.

Cue-sheet files have limitations !! They're nice to get the track layout of a session, but they do not support Multi-Session discs. IsoBuster however adds features to the cue-sheet file so that Multi-session discs are supported as well. These entries are preceded by "REM" so that other applications (that do not support Multi-session cuesheet files) do not complain.

Can DAEMON Tools mount "Enhanced CDs"? Is this functionality in DAEMON Tools Pro? (The advertising for Pro states "DAEMON Tools Pro supports more CD/DVD image types than any other CD emulator!" which seems to indicate that it has better reading support than Lite.)

When my physical Enhanced CDs are in the drive, I can double-click the drive icon or right-click that icon and select "Run enhanced content", but I can't do this via DAEMON Tools Lite's emulated drives with a mounted *.cue + *.bin image of the disc.

For each disc, the Device Info dialog's Media tab indicates that the data tracks are there. I think the problem may have something to do with the tracks being listed as part of a single session rather than multiple sessions as described in the *.cue file.

I'm using DAEMON Tools Lite 4.41.3.0173 with image files created via ImgBurn 2.5.5.0 on Windows 7 SP1 (64-bit).
