DAEMON TOOLS PRO ADVANCED License Question

I'm considering buying the pro advanced version. I gathered ,from the website, that DEAMON tools pro advanced is a subscription-based software.

Please provide me with more iformation about how the license system works for DEAMON tools by answering the following questions.

1. (for the 1-year license) will I be able to use the software after the license expires? Let's say I won't update it, I'll just use whatever version was availiable on my last day of the license.

2. Does the software deactivate itself completely after the license expires? (meaning preventing user from using it completely)

I know life-time upgrade is the best option ,no expiry no nth. But, well, it's 99 EURO

The idea of this: A 100 EURO bank note

Becoming this: A 1 EURO coin

is too much to bear.
