Cannot create new DT virtual device. Cannot find solution.

I have Windows 7 64 bit. My antivirus is Avast! I've been able to create drives and mount iso's previously but now for some reason when I click "add DT virtual device" the "Device driver software was not successfully installed" window pops up. I have can't find anything helpful and I'm very frustrated. If someone can help me it would be so nice. Thank you.

Please try this Microsoft FixIt solution and reboot: Your CD or DVD drive can't read or write media

If that doesn't solve the problem please try to manually delete upper/lower filter as described here (Resolution):
The CD drive or the DVD drive does not work as expected on a computer that is running Windows Vista
