How to deactivate without uninstall?

1- I would like to keep Daemon tool installed, but disabled. In fact, I use it regularly, but some softwares refuse to run if they detect it. Should be able to activate and deactivate as needed.

2- Maybe there is a answer to that question somewhere in the 104 pages of this thread, but how to find it? Please set some way to navigate.

Which DT version exactly are you using, and which OS ?
Could you please give examples of sofwares which refuse to run with DT installed (but not in use) ?

There's no simple activate/deactivate option.
What i can think of is to remove all virtual drives & to uninstall the virtual adapter driver(s).
But to be honest: i guess it would be faster to uninstall the whole program
