DT5.4Std (Licenced) Crash on Load, Crash on Uninstall

When loading Windows, the app crashes instantly, and the gadget cannot initialize. When I tried to uninstall (I installed over DTLite, although it said it successfully uninstalled this first), it also crashes - therefore I can't run it, and can't remove it.

Please try to manually uninstall DT Pro & SPTD analogous to the procedure described here: Removing DAEMON Tools Lite manually | daemon-help.com
Reboot, and also delete C:\ProgramData\DAEMON Tools Pro. Now install DT Pro again.

Before I re-install, is it likely the gadget that is causing the problems, or has that been reliable? It installed & runs perfectly on the gf's machine (so-far-sao-good, done a few installs so far, but haven't tried to burn -and yes, I bought a two-license code)... Just looking for any preventative measures that you can suggest.

I don't know about a general problem with that versions' gadget.
Have you already tried without gadget ? Or to uninstall & reinstall gadget ?
Though i'd first try the procedure described before.
