  • DT Pro 7 - Device can't be created

    am missing something...

upgraded from DT Pro 6 to DT Pro 7

    virtual drive went corrupt.

    uninstalled DT Pro 7

    uninstalled SPTD

    cleared out
    %ProgramData%\DAEMON Tools Pro\
    %AppData%\DAEMON Tools Pro\

    rebooted, reinstalled both

checked Windows Event Viewer, saw something that made me very sad...

      Hello,

Unfortunately, the screenshots are too small to see the error messages. If you have Vista, SPTD boot log is needed. Use the dropbox link to download the archive with logger and description how to use it - https://www.dropbox.com/s/ycggynt528...tSPTD.rar?dl=0.

for some reason the screenshot got reduced in resolution when I added it as an attachement. changed from png to jpg and re-uploaded

Am also not running Windows Vista, am currently running Win7 Ult. SP1 (x64) my apologies for not specifying this previously. yeah, the microsoft kb page references vista but that's the error message verbatim on that kb page...

will get boot log a post back with results

        EDIT: trace log attached.
ran startboot.bat, rebooted, attempted to add 1 IDE Drive via daemon tools, rebooted, ran stopboot.bat, zipped & attached file etl file.

            Hello,

We checked the log. We find Target driver name is \Driver\iaStorA, which is Intel raid controller. The SPTD doesn't support Intel raid controller. This is the cause of the problem.

What is your current SATA controller mode ?
AHCI or RAID/Intel Smart Response Technology ?

no RAID anywhere, just AHCI. see attached screenshot

Have you tried to use the standard Microsoft AHCI driver instead ?

Uninstall Intel Rapid Storage Technology and reboot.

If that doesn't solve the issue you can reinstall the Intel Rapid Storage Technology package again ...or just manually point to the attached folder in device manager.
