Why freez when mount image on Local-HDD for XP

I want to mount any image.
But freez my system. No blue back. Only repeat access to HDD.
Lost all controll. Can't use Ctrl+Alt+Del.

But the image putted without local-HDD, success to mount.
Example, On DVD-R, On Network-Drive. Can mount image.
The image type is everybody ok. iso.ccd.img.....

I tyied to mount any other drive C:, but freezed.

What happen on my system?

I think he means freeze when mounting image on local HDD.
Please check if you use Promise controller and search updated driver.
