I was just wondering if this new "advanced" version of daemon tools will be free, or if there will be a fee associated with it. (it looks very sexy by the way)

Yes, it will be the first x64-compatible version of Daemon Tools, and yes, the UI will be optional - DT Pro with User Interface and CD Ripping Capabilities and DT v4 with the same interface as DT v3.
