I have the original cd, i wanted to play the game without the cd. I installed the update for the game (it's full of bugs). So i created an image (*.iso) if the play disc and mounted it on a virtual drive. I enabled the securerom emulation and started the game. However the game still asked for the cd. Have i done anything wrong? Or shall i do something else to make it work?

Sounds like you didnt make a 1 to 1 copy. Read the Daemon Tools Help file and read up on burning a 1 to 1 copy with Securom protection using one of the recommended burning programs.
