Can DVD 43 and Daemon Tools Coexist?

Operating System: XP HOME SP2
Burning Software: Nero Ultra, Alcohol 120% (uninstalled due to same issue)
Anti-virus Software: NIS 2005
DAEMON Tools Version: 3.4.7

I know what causes my machine to crash now. When I have DVD 43 and D Tools (and Alcohol 120%) installed I cant play audio CDs on my burners without the machine shutting right down and rebooting. Uninstall one or the other and everything is fine. But together forget it.

dvd43llh.sys. is the bugged file in DVD43 I suppose.

What I want to know is if anyone out there is able to run both DVD43 (3.5.3) and D Tools together without any issues such as mine?

Are there ways around it by disabling DVD43? How would I go about getting this bugged file fixed?

Well, you already got your answer in the thread you mentioned. You've to contact the developers of dvd43llh.sys, so they fix the bugs in their driver.
It's also possible that v4 will work a little better with such problematic software, but it'd be better if bugs in that driver would be fixed.

Maybe a replacement for DVD43 would be another option at this point.

dvd43 audio incompatibility

There are at least three methods to play Audio CDs that I can think of.

1. APSI layer
2. SPTI access
3. Analog output

Which cause issues?

you have to restart winamp once done

and Windows itself and be configured via:
Device Manager, DVD/CD-ROM Drives, click the plus icon to expand, pick one of your drives, right click... properties, then the second tab will have a field called 'Digital CD Playback' with a checkbox that can be checked or unchecked.
