Windows not booting after dtools install

Operating System: WinXp SP2
Burning Software: Nero
Anti-virus Software: AVG
DAEMON Tools Version: 3.47

So, I'm installing dtools. Everything works fine, but after a couple of restars (it's all random), windows does not boot anymore. I can boot in safe mode and each time this happens the PnP Bios Extension has a yellow mark. I must uninstall it, reboot and install dtools again. I've done it a few times already and it's driving me nuts. what's happening? any ideas? thanks

PS it happens the same with the Plug and Play Bios Extension device that alcohol installs

Do you have any kind of error message in system event log (run eventvwr.msc)?
If so post the messge incl. all binary bytes.

unfortunately i'm not at home right now but i know i've looked into the event viewer and didn't see anything related. i'll check again and get back to you tomorrow.

new update

it used not to let me install daemon tools at all (250007 error). i deleted all the daemon tools reg keys i could find and installed with modified names. it still works after a few reboots. i hope it's solved.
