I get this error when I try to install daemon tools. I've tried with both the available versions on the site. The error appears just when the installation is about to finnish. My computer setup is:
Compaq Evo N150
312 mb sdram
800 mhz intel pentium III
Microsoft Windows XP version 2002
This means setup cannot set hardware ID property of device in registry.
Either registry is corrupt or some global problem with SetupAPI. Make sure you have no unknown devices in device manager before running setup.
