Don't think so. I don't have Norton Antivirus.

Here are the images so that the administrators can understand what is happening. After the reboot this is what appears.

After pressing OK the next image appears after that the installation crashes.

Have any of you tried disabling your AV temporarily to see if that allows it to work?

                      I have the same problem.

I tried rebooting into safemode, removing the sptd.sys and then installing, then rebooting. No luck. I then tried doing it again by removing it, installing, removing it again before rebooting and then going on again, but no luck. I did notice that the driver interferes (seemingly) with the scsi miniport driver for my internal usb card reader because when sptd.sys is actually installed I can't see any of my removeable devices. I'd say the install has the basic characteristics of an infinite loop under some specific circumstances because it keeps going through the same routine over and over. It doesn't seem to realize it has installed the miniport driver. BTW, XP SP2, Avast AV, Zone Alarm.

                          "Internal Setup Error"

When I tried to install after the reboot I got the "Internal Setup Error" error.

I then removed the sptd.sys file that you are talking about and restarted the computer. I then ran the setup again and it installed the SPTD. When the setup wanted me to reboot, I rebooted the computer into Safe Mode and ran the setup there. No error message came up and when I then rebooted the computer into normal everything worked just fine.

I hope this will help someone

Now the install wont even start.
3.4.7 works fine but as soon as i start the 4.0 installer i get this message:

-Deleted everything in the temp map.
-Searched the register for daemon and d-tools and deleted everything.
-Used CCleaner to clean the register.
-Tried to start in safe mode but still get the same message.
