daemon.exe has encountered a problem...

"daemon.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." is the error I get when I try to open DAEMON tools. I also get the error with the uninstall program.

I deleted the sys file in System32/Drivers so that I could manually remove Daemon tools. I then reinstalled and i'm still getting the same error.

Any suggestions please?

ive followed all of these manual uninstallation methods and re-installed dt4 and its always a failure and an inability to uninstall. just 100% screwed up and with no message other than "daemon.exe encountered an error."

sheeeeit! i think i found a semi solution to this...

after putting 2+2 together from reading the 3.x manual uninstall... the 4.x manual uninstall leaves out any registry modification.

so what i found to work was to follow this....

How to remove DAEMON Tools V4

and then go into your registry and delete
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\dtscsi

i now have dt4 back up and running.

administrator please fix the manual uninstall instructions to include this because i spent about 40 minutes tearing my hair out.
