how should i translate these letters?

and i am curious about what %s means.

%s is a formatting command. Program will insert a string at that place instead of %s in runtime. Other most often used substitutions are: %d - integer number, %f - floating point number.

I have the same problem with the translator, I think something is wrong with the ENU file wich causes this.
