no disk installation...help

i don't really know much bout these types of programs im good at figuring out how to use them i juss have no idea what program im looking for....
...but anyway i figured that if i copied all the files from a g ame game disk (medieval total war)onto my laptop id be able to play it without the disk .... i found the launch file and at first it worked for a second but then my laptop keeps looking to the disk drive for the files is there and if so can someone direct me to a program that will trick my laptop into thinking that the folder with the files is the disk drive... i asked a kid in my school and appearantly having vista is important to know so im puting that out there i DO have vista......unfortunately lol

That won't work. You have to create an image with Daemon Tools Pro with the right profile (check game database for copy protection) and then mounting in a virtual drive of Daemon Tools.
