Linux CD emulation

I would like to write a daemon tools like emulator for Linux. I don't know that this idea will ever make it off the drawing board, but I would like to try.

The biggest question I have is; Where do you I find the file format for some of these images file like MDS, or BWA???

lol, making a daemon tools like software for linux will be pretty hard... I don't think linux has the same kinda drives as windows does... isn't everything just mounted onto the FS?
