    Re: Starforce 3.5 and 3.6

I think you are very lucky if you can do this on 3.5 and 3.6
    the modern world:

Well ... i hope that someone makes an emulator, that makes all of the optical drives seem/identify as SCSI drives...

But anyway, its so cool: I just unpluged the power cables from my Plextor CD-rw and DVD-ROM ,then installed the copied game (mounted an alcohol image with DaemonTools v4) wich is SPLINTER CELL : CHAOS THEORY ,and it worked like a charm.Didnt use SFCURE or SFBlocker .Nice,eh?
I must say : for such a nice game, there should be a tough-ass protection. And i think, that blaming SF devs for not giving you the possibility of backing up your copies its verry obvious... you should then RETURN the CD/DVD and ask for a new one - when your DVD will brake/scratch/whatever/wear down No? Ahh,im just happy it worked for me,so im ranting you all Dont pay atention,if so ... ill be even more annoying

Always watch the StarForce protected game's SF version
number. StarForce 3 up to 3.4 was working nearly the all
PC configuration and running on WinXP SP1 sure the 90%s.
Use A-Ray 2.0.2.3 (latest) or anything else to identify the
          protection number.
Also this SF versions has a good chance to make a Clone-
Image (possible not your 1:1 from your Original, but a good
          Backup).
StarForce 3.5-3.6 very grindly, not possible to make a good
Backup, very luckyly if you have Plextor Premium or a good
LiteOn drive. Also the Mounted CloneImage about 3% chance
to run (if makes a good Image!!) on any PC configuration.
More than 90% chance to run if you OFF the POWER CHORD
(Power Supply chord ONLY) from the 1st CD/DVD-drive.
I tested my 16 Original StarForce protected game, and some
of them didn't works and makes strange things to be happen
after install (especially the DVD-versions). Some of the RAID
IDE's motherboard and nForce 2/3/4 chipset's MB was MORE
chance to run a good CloneImage at StarForce 3.5-3.6, also
good old CD/DVD READER ONLY-drives was works too
(e.g. X3 Reunion, World Racing 2 etc.). maybe the SF prot.
has "hole" at their protection scheme. So, at HIGH versions
of StarForce was MORE INSTABILITY and maybe the develo-
ping/coding has a TimeLimit and makes some mistakes at
finish as for their contracted games. I don't know this is my
fiction.. (sorry for my bad english)

Yes I get King Kong and I cannot make a good CloneImage.
              I have the CD-version (I Ordered CD-version from StarForce
games, becouse the stability/workness, ALWAYS). The game
really good, but have a good protection. I will try next my new
Plextor or LiteOn drive, sure (hope) to make a good Clone.
But the SF 3.6 really low to chance a working backup.
Some of SF 3.5/3.6 works on my nForce 4 chipsets Mother-
board and some on RAID drive. But ALL WORKS on USB DVD
R/W drive!! It is not the cheapest...

It is your problem, but the software way(aka SFN) for hide the IDE in SF 3.5/3.6 work.

Try to download a valid mds or try to read manuals on how to create a perfect mds(mdspatch, Adv. mds editor, remove starforce drivers, no programs in memory, etc etc).

No Dochilt, I tried to do that with PoP:T2T, but it still told me to insert the cd in another drive.

U have to unplug the IDE CD DVD drive manually. Disabling the IDE not working for starforce newest protection.

Yes, my problem NOT that to create a good CloneImage, but
WORKS StarForce 3.5 or 3.6 WITHOUT I OFF POWER CHORD.
If I have a SecuROM 5/7 game I create Backup CloneImage
WITH Blindwrite. If the protection was Safedisc/Smarte or
StarForce I use Alcohol. If I do not have the right DPM info I
search/change the good BWA or MDS file. Becouse I have the
Original game this is not Illegal.
ALL OF my problem only the SF 3.5-3.6 games. I have many
StarForce protected games SF 3-3.6 an I TRIED ALL THE
Hider softs etc. but ANY of my SF 3.5-3.6 Backup WORKS
only if I OFF POWER SUPPLY...

Yup, since v3.5 StarForce has a more advanced IDE check that finds optical IDE drives even if they are hidden. It'll only work if you unplug them.

(I do know some people with nForce 3/4 boards can play them without unplugging their drives. No need to discuss this again here, it obviously doesn't work for people asking for help.)
                        "I was inappropriately blunt, wasn't I? Sorry, I do that a lot."

                          @WOLVERIN

Atm no other software hide the cd/dvd from starforce. u have to unplug the cd/dvd rom manually. starforce has a very low level chacking to find any IDE CD/DVD is connected or not. Disabling cd/dvd from bios no longer work. CZ if bios can ditect u r cd/dvd then any other sofware can. Stop searching for any IDE jammer, and w8 for daemon IDE jammer thats definetly work, trust me

I will bought an USB DVD R-W soon (~70-100 Euro) and after
that I have 95% chance to play all my (expensive) games
                            without the Original media.

This may be a stupid question, but I'm just wondering if someone could clear this up for me.

Can the latest starforce protected games be played at all off a backup copy of the CD from an actual CD? Or is it only possible as an iamge from the HD with the cdrom drives unplugged?

                                Alcohol 120% DPM / RMPS

You can play from CD. Using Alcohol 120% extract the DPM and burn with RMPS enabled.
